1. Understanding PAN and CIN in TallyPrime

1. PAN (Permanent Account Number):

A unique 10-digit alphanumeric code issued by the Indian Income Tax Department to individuals and entities.

2. CIN (Corporate Identification Number):

A unique 21-digit alphanumeric code issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to companies incorporated in India.

2. Steps to Print PAN and CIN on Invoices in TallyPrime:

1. Create Custom Fields:

  • Go to Gateway of Tally > F11 (Features).
  • Under Voucher Type Settings, select the “Sales Invoice” voucher type.
  • Press Alt+F12 (Configure).
  • In the Bill-wise Details section, add two new fields:
    • Name: “PAN”
    • Data Type: “Text”
    • Name: “CIN”
    • Data Type: “Text”

2. Place the Fields:

Drag and drop the “PAN” and “CIN” fields to the desired location on the invoice layout (e.g., the header or footer).

3. Enter Details:

When creating a sales invoice, enter your company’s PAN and CIN in the respective fields.

3. Example of Printing PAN and CIN on Invoices in TallyPrime:

Let’s say your company’s PAN is “ABCDE1234F” and CIN is “U72900GJ2010PTC054321”.

  1. Follow the steps above to create “PAN” and “CIN” fields in the sales invoice layout.
  2. Place the fields in the header or footer.
  3. When creating a sales invoice, enter “ABCDE1234F” in the “PAN” field and “U72900GJ2010PTC054321” in the “CIN” field.

4. Additional Tips:

  • Formatting: You can customize the appearance of the fields, such as font size, alignment, and formatting.
  • Mandatory Fields: Make the “PAN” and “CIN” fields mandatory to ensure that they are always filled in.
  • Conditional Display: You can configure the fields to be displayed only if the company is a registered entity or if the customer is a government entity.
